EXPERIENCE St Andrews SEASIDE SAUNA
RELAX WITH AMAZING VIEWS
St. Andrews Seaside Sauna is the latest sauna from the Scottish Seaside Saunas. More spacious and seating more than the iconic Shore Sauna, at Elie Seaside Sauna, it is located next to the, East Sands Leisure Centre, a short walk from St. Andrews City Centre, on the famous surfing and wild swimming beach of East Sands.
The sauna was opened by friends of Judith, Wild Swimming stars Julie Wilson Nimmo and Greg Hemphill, aka, Jules and Greg.
Jules, in particular, loved the sauna’s positioning, right on Fife’s Coastal Path, between The East Sands and St. Andrews’ Leisure Centre, emphasising the sauna’s ethos of inclusivity, health and wellbeing, for all, through its obvious appeal for both beach users and citizens of St. Andrews, of a range of ages annd backgrounds, especially Leisure Centre members.
Designed and built with attention to detail, from Scottish Seaside Sauna’s Founder and Director, Judith Dunlop, local craftsmen and a skilled sauna designer. The sauna is built using top quality thermo Alder from sauna supplier Heartwood and a Narvi Black stove (the lowest emission stove on the planet) installed with a HETAS Certification.
St. Andrews Seaside Sauna is the culmination of years of sauna travel, research and learning, by Judith.
Judith’s sauna design is full of attention to detail, including an extremely low step, so that is accessed easily by people with poor mobility.
There is ample free parking nearby and the area is on a Stagecoach bus route. However, the location linking the wilderness of the beach, with urban nature of the town, putting an emphasis on ‘green travel’, means that despite living in an urban area through regular use of the sauna, citizens of St. Andrews can feel a personal connection with nature and the environment, all year round and that many residents of the town will be able to walk and cycle to the sauna, which all feeds into the health, wellbeing and community-focus of St. Andrews Seaside Sauna and the ethos of Scottish Seaside Saunas, in general.
