AUFGUSS WITH BRIGHTON AUFGUSS

Aufguss, is one of the fasted-growing wellness trends of the current sauna movement. An Eastern European sauna tradition, being adopted, rapidly around The Nordic Region, North America and The UK, Aufguss literally means ‘scented air’.

A performance-based sauna practice, Aufguss blends music, scent, storytelling and the manipulation of warm, scented air, with a towel.

Suited to big saunas, like Shore, at Elie Seaside Sauna and St. Andrews Seaside Sauna, it brings the whole of the sauna together, for a shared experience.

 

This year Scottish Seaside Sauna’s Founder, Judith, attended several of the Aufguss performances, in this year’s UK Championships, in arc community, the brand new 65-seater sauna, at Canary Wharf, as a prelude to this year’s British Sauna Society’s Sauna Summit.
In the Autumn of last year, Elie Seaside Sauna hosted one of the first Aufguss performances in Scotland. This summer we bring you Nick, aka Brighton Aufguss.

Last year, Nick and Judith, trained with Deborah Carr, The UK Aufguss judge. However, Judith is so busy running Scottish Seaside Saunas, she only has time for impromptu Aufguss sessions, so we have invited Nick to perform 4 Aufguss sessions, this summer: 2 in Elie and 2 at St. Andrews Seaside Sauna.

Later this year, in early Autumn, St. Andrews Seaside Sauna will be hosting the first Aufguss training to be held in Scotland. This training is sold out, already. However, with demand for Aufguss so high, we will, hopefully be running more training soon!

  • 17th July – 10am and 7pm @ St Andrews
